My friend recommended the book by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen 'Influence' which shows interviews with designers across the arts field that have influenced them (well duh) and their own photographs, ideas and really just a whole lot of cool pages that are just nice to look at. I say buy it for the blossom printed inserts alone.

Reading blues

Reading 2010 - Blink 182, Arcade Fire, Weezer, Paramore, Thrice, Mumford and sons - all amazing. Less amazing was my matted hair and feet sorely punished by my wellies - note for next time - walking boots and THAT indian headdress.

My new SLR camera and i went on a trip to Wollaton Hall in Nottingham recently, which housed a huge stuffed giraffe and hundreds of cased butterflies! Heres my two fave pics (sadly not of the giraffe - i couldnt fit him all in!)

My friend asked me to model for her 1960s style photo shoot, influenced by David Bailey. Heres the results...i think they're pretty cool, we found the clothes at this great vintage warehouse in Notts all very reasonably priced!

Gold Rush

Im having a golden moment... having found my mums unworn gold padlock and chain i decided it was just the thing to go with my 'dogeared' red linin karma bracelet, this started my obsession for all things with a gold glint and i found this old gold locket in a antiques market and gold clock winder in a draw! Now i just want the 'dogeared' gold dipped karma necklace to finish off my bling! Darn xmas being so far away!!

Loving the new Topshop ad, sultry red lips and sequins with a bouffant hair do is defo my next night out look!

NEWS FLASH!

I've just found this amazing free program downloadable at http://www.poladroid.net, and it makes your boring old digi photos into Polaroids in a matter of seconds! Ive only had a quick play with it but here's some of my own snaps made cool!

Polaroid present please...?!

Top of my wish list right now is a Polaroid camera. I need to find a very cheap one though as my budget is very limited. During my research I found these pretty snaps on the tint, i love the soft focused romantic and vintage look about them. Hmm, when a camera makes the most mundane life have a rosy glow like that surely that's worth the stretch!

Looking at the brilliant blog 'fashionroadkill.blogspot.com' i looked a beautiful photograph featured which reminded me i really should post something on the Pre-Raphaelite movement, as i think (as obviously the bbc does with their new show 'desprate romantics') that these paintings are still as modern and popular today as then. Almost photographic these paintings are the Tim Walker images of the 19th century! full of fantacy beauty and drama.
